Programmer (Game Boy DMG Assembly)

 Job position to work as a Freelance.

What kind of games and mechanics are going to be programmed in Deathrosa?

Deathrosa 2 DMG for the Game Boy will be a short sequel with a short duration, it will have a Top-down world and some parts Side Scrolling as Link’s Awakening or Pokemon Red / Blue. The combat system will be a rpg shoot ’em up, inspired by the combat system of Earthbound, Undertale, Touhou Project, Mushihimesama.

 You are going to:

-Work with the development team to do the programming of the entire game of Deathrosa 2 for the DMG Game Boy using Assembly. From the most basic things in the Overworld, such as dialogues, coalitions, physics etc … to more complex things like the RPG Turn based combat system and a Shoot ’em up-Bullet Hell system with complex patterns of bullets like Touhou Project or Mushihimesama.

-Create things never done before in the industry! Deathrosa will have a demanding and ambitious design that seeks to create new rules in the game industry, new genres, experiment new techniques, and polish the idea to reach the perfection. You will accept each new idea, no matter the impossible it may seem, you will take it as a personal challenge and show the world how things are done.

-Work with the Environment Artist to implement the art of the worlds and props for the design of the Overworld and the Stages.

-Create VFX inspired by “Is that a demo in your pocket?” or like the shaders of the Earthbound bosses, as well as the VFX for the powers of the characters like Earhtbound-Mario RPG.

-Test and improve the quality and performance of the game, solve bugs, test the game difficulty. 

-Provide with ideas for the design of the game.

Requirements:

-Advanced knowledge in development for the Game Boy and Assembly.

-A demo reel that demonstrates your projects, knowledge and skills.

-Be the nerd of the nerds in your neighborhood.

-Constant communication through messages and voice chat using Discord.

-Be the nerd of the nerds in your neighborhood.

Advantages (Not obligatory):

-Professional experience as a programmer / software developer.

-Have a playable demo for a Game Boy game.

-Knowledge in other programming languages.

-Experience creating other types of applications.

-Unity Certification.

Additional Information.

The work will start at the beginning of 2020.

As a freelancer you manage your times, you will not have strict deathline times, you will have all the flexibility, but you need constant communication through Discord voice chat.

Of course we will continue to create more games until the end of time! That means you could work on our future more ambitious AAA projects! And occupy some full-time position in the future, if you wish.
